Where to begin

A Google Ads account records almost everything that happens in it: which searches triggered an ad, where it was shown, what each click cost and what followed. When ads stop paying, the reason is usually in those reports, and reading them costs nothing.

The guides are arranged by symptom: ads that do not show, ads that show and are not clicked, clicks that do not become customers, and budget that goes unspent. One more sets ads beside SEO, for an owner deciding where to start.

The guides

What these guides do not do

An account can be run well and still lose money if the page behind the ad is slow or off the subject. Several of these guides end at that page for that reason.

Free competitor gap report

An advertisement leads to a page, and the page is compared with every other result. Name up to three competitors and we measure your pages against theirs, then send you where a visitor would choose them.

  1. Speed and technical health, side by side
  2. On-page SEO and site structure
  3. The content they are found for and you are not
  4. Who holds the searches that matter in your market
  5. A prioritised list of what to fix first
